American Travel declining due to HIGH gas prices

American travel has been declining for the past two months as a result of high gas prices causing Americans to drive less. In April travel was still down 2.4 percent. With the up coming fourth of July weekend here AAA is predicting a decline in travel by 2.5 percent as well. Gas prices are approximately one dollar per gallon higher than last year. The first four months of the year shows travel numbers down about 7.1 billion miles. Gas prices have fallen recently, but the Energy Information Agency says the national average is up $0.91 from last year.
