Audi R18 LMP1 Race Car
Audi won nine championships with its three brilliant creations; the R15 TDI, the R10 TDI and the R8. They now have a new creation to optimistically continue its winning streak. Audi unveiled their new beast and it’s the R18 LMP1 Sports Car 2011. Unlike their previous models this has a closed top design to further improve its aerodynamic capability.
Audi flawlessly won a thrilling 2011 Le Mans 24hrs. Over the 24 hours endurance race, and finished 13 seconds ahead of the Peugeot LMP1 squad. Since 2000 Audi has dominated this event with ten victories - 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and now 2011. Porsche still holds the record for most wins by a manufacturer at 16. Their last victory coming in 1998.
