Americans are driving more than ever.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Americans are driving a lot more than before. In the latest ‘Traffic Volume Trends’ by the Department of Transportation, it is estimated that Americans drove a total of 2.9 trillion miles in 2010. That’s a 0.7 percent increase or an increase of 20.5 billion more miles than 2009. It also marks the most miles traveled since 2007.
